Why Swiss-type machining
On a Swiss-type lathe the bar is supported by a guide bushing right next to the cutting tool. Slender, long parts therefore do not deflect, and surface finish and diameter tolerance are far more stable than on a conventional lathe. The sub-spindle machines the back of the part in the same cycle; drilling, milling, cross-holes and threading are added so the part leaves the machine complete.
- Connector pins, sensor bodies, valve needles
- Medical and dental implant screws, cannulas
- Automotive injection and brake system components
- Micro parts for watches, optics and electronics
Unit cost in series production
With cycle times measured in seconds and minimal operator intervention, Swiss-type machining delivers the lowest unit cost for medium and high volumes. Combined with Turkey's competitive labour and energy costs, savings of 30–50 % including logistics are achievable for European buyers; bar stock is sourced to European standards (1.4305, 1.4404, CuZn39Pb3, EN AW-6082 etc.).
